Who We Are
Step into a pivotal role where you'll enhance the Market experience for artists while working closely with fellow volunteers and artist delegation members. As a valued member of the Artist Assistant team (formerly named Artist Booth Insider), you'll be entrusted with supporting a pair of artist booths, adapting your assistance to suit the unique needs of each.
Your responsibilities will vary, influenced by factors such as visitor traffic and sales volume. From refreshing booth displays to aiding the cashier team during transactions, your adaptability and listening skills will be essential. This role demands flexibility, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to balance the needs of both artists and Market guests seamlessly.
Join us in creating a dynamic and supportive environment where artists can thrive, and every Market visitor enjoys an unforgettable experience. Your contributions will make a tangible difference, shaping the success of our vibrant community.
It is our goal to send out artist assignments to any artist assistant volunteers who sign up prior to July 1st before the start of the market. If you sign up on July 1st or later, you can expect to receive your artist assignments on site at the market.
What We Do
- Cover for artists when breaks for food or the bathroom are needed.
- Help maintain the clean and organized appearance of the booth following the artist's lead. For example, an artist may ask a volunteer to assist with moving around products and resupply, folding garments, or grabbing an extra display case or mannequin for them.
- Sometimes you may be asked to support the Market in helping sell the artists’ work by confirming details with the Cashier Volunteers. Depending on the artist(s)’ product, you may be asked to handle a piece of art or assist with packing an item with the artist.
- Make supply runs in coordination with other teams like Handypersons or Booth Supplies.
TEAM NOTE: Each artist may have unique needs they ask for assistance with and volunteers should do their best to support those needs, some volunteers may be asked to walk and carry items to and from artists booths. Volunteers should be able to stand for long periods of time. Volunteers are NOT required to have any foreign language skills, but beginner/conversational level language skills may be helpful.
