During Decor Preparations shifts volunteers use materials provided by IFAM to create decor items under the guidance of IFAM Chief Operating Officer and team Volunteer Chairs. 

This year, there are a few different projects that volunteers will assist with. We will continue adding shifts as these projects develop. See below which shifts correspond with each project, and sign up for the ones that interest you!

Team Notes: These shifts take place at the IFAM Warehouse (1591 Pacheco St., Bldg. 1, Unit 1-S). Please dress in closed toed shoes and wear clothing that you are comfortable getting messy. There is a water cooler onsite, please bring a personal water bottle you can use during your shift. 

Looking for an opportunity to volunteer with IFAM this winter? We are in need of volunteers to help with a variety of organizational projects at our Warehouse. No heavy lifting is required. Some of the projects include:

Scheduling Note: During the shift on April 16th, volunteers will assist with assembling shelving and cleaning coolers.

This year, we are partnering with the Railyards Conservancy to organize two pre-Market volunteer sessions in the Railyard Park!

Join us as we learn about native flora and fauna, prune bushes and trumpet vines, and support the Conservancy's efforts to steward this incredible public space. Tools and gloves will be provided. We will meet by the Community Room in the Park, the metal building next to the restrooms. 

During this shift, volunteers will help pack the Booth Supplies bins at the IFAM Warehouse. 

Note: This volunteer shift takes place at the IFAM Warehouse which is located at 1591 Pacheco St., Bldg. 1, Unit 1-S Santa Fe, New Mexico 87505. Please wear closed-toed shoes and bring a water bottle. We will have a water cooler to refill bottles and small snacks onsite.

This team helps manage and distribute the complimentary supplies provided by IFAM for artist, staff, and crew use during the Market. Booth Supplies volunteers assist at the Booth Supplies station during booth set-up and the Market. Volunteers are not responsible for delivering booth rental equipment such as tables, dress forms, and mirrors. Instead, the Booth Supplies team staffs the Booth Supplies station to help hand out supplies such as garbage bags, price tags, and pens as requested by artists and their assistants, IFAM Staff, and the Production Crew. Team members should be comfortable lifting up to 20lbs.

Keep in mind: Dress for the weather, with your volunteer t-shirt, comfortable shoes (for walking in the dirt), sunscreen, a hat and a jacket (in case of inclement weather -- which won't happen if you have a jacket!).

Scheduling note: During the morning shift, volunteers will help deliver booth supplies boxes to each artist booth. The afternoon shift occurs during the first day of artist booth set-up.

Help us stuff Market Bags with IFAM magazines to prepare for our Opening Night Celebration. This is a great opportunity for families to volunteer together or for folks who would prefer to volunteer in an indoor seated role. 

Team Note: Our goal will be to prepare to stuff a set number of bags. Once that number has been reached, the shifts will end.

This shift takes place on the first day of artist booth set up. Artist Assistant volunteers will assist as artists transport their artwork to their booths, inventory their products, organize their booth supplies and rental items, and begin setting up merchandise displays. 

TEAM NOTE: Each artist has unique needs; volunteers should do their best to support those needs. Some volunteers may be asked to walk and carry items to and from artists booths. Volunteers should be able to stand for long periods of time. Volunteers are NOT required to have any foreign language skills, but beginner/conversational level language skills may be helpful.

SCHEDULING NOTE: Since this is the first shift of booth set up, volunteers will be asked to meet artists at the load in areas near the two Market entrances instead of at the booths so that they can assist artists as they transport their artwork to their booths.

Team Notes: We ask team members to bring a set of basic tools along for their shifts. Heavy lifting is required during this shift. 

Scheduling Note: This shift takes place during the first day of artist booth set up. Artists will be arriving around 12:00pm and may take some time to get their bearings before requesting Handypersons support. 

Team Notes: Tasks for this team include maneuvering through busy crowds to reach artists and deliver their box meals.

Team Note: This position will require standing and working in the sun. We encourage volunteers to bring a hat, sunscreen, and a refillable water bottle. We will invite all team members to attend a training session prior to volunteering. Market Greeter volunteers may be asked to help the Welcome Pavilion team with ticket scanning during busy periods.

This team helps manage and distribute the complimentary supplies provided by IFAM for artist, staff, and crew use during the Market. Booth Supplies volunteers assist at the Booth Supplies station during booth set-up and the Market. Volunteers are not responsible for delivering booth rental equipment such as tables, dress forms, and mirrors. Instead, the Booth Supplies team staffs the Booth Supplies station to help hand out supplies such as garbage bags, price tags, and pens as requested by artists and their assistants, IFAM Staff, and the Production Crew. Team members should be comfortable lifting up to 20lbs.

Keep in mind: Dress for the weather, with your volunteer t-shirt, comfortable shoes (for walking in the dirt), sunscreen, a hat and a jacket (in case of inclement weather -- which won't happen if you have a jacket!).

Note: Receipts have a very small font size, reader glasses may be helpful!

Team volunteers check in bikes by tagging each bike and giving a matching tag to the owner, keep bikes safe during the Market, and return bikes when their owners pick them up. IFAM partners with Bike Santa Fe to provide this service to guests. Volunteers will be stationed at the bike valet area for the duration of their shifts.
