Volunteer: Decor: 2026 Pre-Market Decor Preparations

From sewing to sculpture, if you have a passion for crafting this is the team for you! 

During Decor Preparations shifts volunteers use materials provided by IFAM to create decor items under the guidance of IFAM Chief Operating Officer and team Volunteer Chairs. 

The Decor team will gather to work on projects until completion: sewing pedrail covers, combining and sewing papel picado and artist banners, creating selfie walls (including flowers), making wayfinding signs, attaching bells, and making triangle banners out of leftover wax cloth for the pedrails. Volunteers will work on these projects during the following shifts. We may add additional shifts if more support is needed, or remove shifts when projects are complete

Team Notes: These shifts take place at the IFAM Warehouse (1591 Pacheco St., Bldg. 1, Unit 1-S). Please dress in closed toed shoes and wear clothing that you are comfortable getting messy. There is a water cooler onsite, please bring a personal water bottle you can use during your shift.

Instead, the Booth Supplies team staffs the Booth Supplies station to help hand out supplies such as garbage bags, price tags, and pens as requested by artists and their assistants, IFAM Staff, and the Production Crew. Team members should be comfortable lifting up to 20lbs.

Keep in mind: Dress for the weather, with your volunteer t-shirt, comfortable shoes (for walking in the dirt), sunscreen, a hat and a jacket (in case of inclement weather -- which won't happen if you have a jacket!).

Scheduling note: During the morning shift, volunteers will help deliver booth supplies boxes to each artist booth. The afternoon shift occurs during the first day of artist booth set-up.

Instead, the Booth Supplies team staffs the Booth Supplies station to help hand out supplies such as garbage bags, price tags, and pens as requested by artists and their assistants, IFAM Staff, and the Production Crew. Team members should be comfortable lifting up to 20lbs.

Keep in mind: Dress for the weather, with your volunteer t-shirt, comfortable shoes (for walking in the dirt), sunscreen, a hat and a jacket (in case of inclement weather -- which won't happen if you have a jacket!).

Join us as we work in Warehouse 21 to help the production team clean up the Railyard as well as get our supplies sorted and ready to return to the IFAM Warehouse.

While the bulk of the work will be in the air-conditioned Warehouse 21, some of us will also be in the market footprint collecting booth supplies and tablecloths.  Plan to wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and come prepared with hats and sunscreen for outdoor work.  There will be no snacks or water, so bring what you may need.
